We had the most AMAZING time partying with Carrie in her super-chic NYC apartment last week! She graciously invited a bunch of her friends for brunch and DIY candle-making, and we all had a blast crafting our candles and just hanging out.
Before we give you the deets on the party, you have GOT to see Carrie’s apartment. Carrie is the founder of Carrie Hammer Custom Apparel, a made-to-measure professional women’s clothing company, and as you would expect from an enormously successful fashion designer, her West Village apartment is absolutely fabulous.
“Come on in and have a look around!”
When you first walk in, you can’t miss the bright blue living/dining room!
(I still can’t get over her manikin standing lamp!!)
And here’s a look at her nifty kitchen — I love the oversized utensil stencils!
She even let us take a peek into her bedroom & closet…
(Look at all of these shoes!!!)
After we got a tour of the house, we grabbed a bite from the delicious breakfast buffet (bagels, berries, and baked sweets) and handed out Hometalk goodies to all of the guests.
Mr. Manikin even got his own Hometalk shirt…
After filling our bellies and redecorating Carrie’s apartment with Hometalk swag, we got started on the real task at hand — making some stupendous soy candles.
While we boiled up the soy wax, we converted Carrie’s kitchen table into a craft space by setting down some newspaper.
(Carrie had a couple premade candles to give us a sneak peek at what our finished products would look like.)
Then we went to town decorating our mason jar candle holders…
Look at the mess we made!!
After bedazzling and blinging out our candle jars, it was time to pour in the hot soy wax.
Once our candles were poured, they were placed into the fridge to cool down while we did a little chillin’ ourselves…
Matt (from our Hometalk team) was the only guy at the party, but he was totally lovin it!
We had a really good time hanging out together, and in only two hours our candles were done!
We had an absolutely amazing time. Thank you so much for inviting us over, Carrie! We XOXO you for being an amazing Hometalk House Party Hostess!
